JUST BECAUSE THE TECHNOLOGY EXISTS, DOESN’T MEAN YOUR SKIN NEEDS IT.
The aesthetics industry is constantly evolving. Every year brings another revolutionary device, another breakthrough technology and another treatment promising extraordinary results.
The reality is, there will always be another innovation on the horizon. Today’s most sought after technology will inevitably make way for tomorrow’s latest advancement, accompanied by new promises, new trends and renewed excitement.
Some of these advancements are genuinely impressive, supported by clinical evidence and capable of delivering meaningful improvements, whilst others the marketing can be considerably more convincing than the science and that’s where I believe we need to ask more questions.
With some aesthetic devices costing clinics tens of thousands of euros and the rest, there can be commercial pressure to generate a return on that investment but a treatment should never be recommended simply because a clinic has invested in the technology.
The question should always be whether the treatment is right for your skin.
Not every skin concern requires an expensive machine. Not every treatment promising lifting, tightening or rejuvenation will deliver meaningful, lasting improvements. And an immediate visible result doesn’t necessarily translate into long term skin health.
Temporary radiance, plumping and tightening can certainly have their place. But we need to distinguish between an immediate cosmetic effect and genuine, sustained improvements in skin quality.
At Oceanskin, I believe in a more considered approach.
Understanding the skin first. Identifying what it genuinely needs. Choosing treatments based on evidence, suitability and realistic expectations rather than trends, hype or the latest technology.
Because sometimes the most valuable treatment isn’t the newest or most expensive, it’s the one that’s right for you and your skin.
Real expertise isn’t about having the latest technology. It’s about knowing when to use it, when not to, and understanding what each individual skin needs. 🤍

I thought it was time to reintroduce myself and share a little of the story behind Oceanskin Clinic.
My passion for skin and beauty began in my early teens, I was obsessed with makeup and skincare. I started out early days as a makeup artist before moving into corporate banking, but my love for skin never left me.
Eventually, I decided to follow my passion and returned to education and qualified as a Level 4 facialist. In 2020 I decided it was time to set up my own business and so Oceanskin began.
Since then, I’ve continued to invest in education, attending countless training events and learning from some of the best in the industry. I’m currently studying towards my VTCT Level 4 in IPL because I believe there’s always more to learn.
But my vision was never just about treating skin.
As a busy mum myself, I know how difficult it can be to make time for yourself. I wanted to create a space where women could completely switch off from everyday life while receiving results-driven, personalised skin treatments.
After welcoming my youngest daughter in 2024, I reevaluated what success meant to me. I wanted a better balance between family life and a career I genuinely love. My private, home studio became the perfect way to bring the two together.
I also know first hand that perfect skin doesn’t exist. I manage melasma myself, and while there’s pressure in this industry to have flawless skin, I believe in healthy skin, realistic expectations and long-term results.
My philosophy is simple: less is more, education over confusion, barrier first and well-ageing rather than anti-ageing.
Oceanskin is everything I believe in, bringing together science, skin health and a little serenity.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey so far I’m forever grateful 🤍
✨ Aesthetics Professional of the Year ✨
I’m absolutely delighted to have won Aesthetics Professional of the Year at the Irish Beauty Awards.
A huge thank you to every one of my clients who took the time to vote for me — I know there were so many of you, and your support genuinely means so much. 🤍
I’ve mentioned before that awards and events like these don’t define you or the success of your business. What matters most to me will always be the trust my clients place in me, the results I achieve and continuing to grow and develop in what I do.
But it is still incredibly lovely to be recognised, to celebrate the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, and to have a little fun with so many other brilliant people and businesses within the industry. @oceanicawards

A great day of training with @reginav_aesthetics and @shadi_ahmadnia learning new techniques and refining the way we approach microneedling at Oceanskin. 🤍
For us, it’s about so much more than microneedling.
Today was all about exploring ways to elevate both the treatment experience and the results — from advanced needling techniques to combining treatments with EKseption organic acid peels and carefully selected, high-performance ingredients.
Rather than simply performing a treatment, we look at the skin as a whole, its barrier, hydration, pigmentation, texture and long term function and consider how different modalities and ingredients can work together to support it.
At Oceanskin, every treatment we offer has skin health and well ageing at its core. Our approach is never about chasing quick fixes or doing more for the sake of it. It’s about thoughtful, considered treatments, selected for your individual skin and designed to achieve progressive, natural-looking results.
More than just microneedling. A complete approach to healthier, stronger, beautifully functioning skin.
#skintraining#healthyskin#medicalmicroneedling#oceanskinclinicgalway🌱
There is a quiet confidence in understanding what your skin truly needs. Not more products, more treatments or more noise — just thoughtful, considered care, chosen for your skin in that moment. At Oceanskin, our ethos has always been rooted in treating skin as individual. We believe in well-ageing rather than anti-ageing, supporting the skin rather than overwhelming it, and creating results through a considered blend of science, advanced skin therapies and restorative touch. Every treatment is curated with intention, adapting to where your skin is today while always keeping its long-term health in mind. Because beautiful skin isn’t about chasing perfection or doing more — it’s about understanding your skin, respecting it, and doing what’s right for it.

Had the best couple of days in Dublin training with FILLMED ✨
What better way to combine business and pleasure than turning a training trip into a girlie getaway!💕 Between learning, networking, and spending quality time with a friend, it was the perfect mix of professional development and well-deserved downtime.
I love investing in ongoing training to ensure I’m bringing the latest techniques, knowledge, and treatments back to my clients. FILLMED continues to lead the way with innovative, science-backed aesthetic solutions that deliver natural, effective results while supporting skin health from within.
Feeling inspired, motivated, and excited to bring more expertise back to the clinic. Thank you FILLMED for such an informative and enjoyable experience! ✨

I’ve been fairly quiet on socials lately, but to be honest, I’ve never really been someone who feels the need to share every moment online. A lot of what I do happens behind the scenes — and lately that’s been where my energy has been.
I’ve been busy in clinic, training, continuing to educate myself and investing in building my knowledge so I can keep growing and be the very best I can be at my craft. I care so deeply about what I do and giving every client the best experience and results possible, so I’m always learning, refining and evolving.
One thing I have felt lately though is so much gratitude. The beautiful reviews, kind messages and continued trust have honestly meant more than I can say. Hearing your experiences and knowing you feel looked after and happy with your results reminds me that all the hard work is worth it.
Thank you for supporting me, trusting me and being part of this journey — I’m so excited for everything still to come 🤍

We are loving using purasomes in clinic alongside microneedling because they really take the results to the next level. Microneedling already kickstarts your skin’s natural healing response, but adding purasomes helps boost that process by supporting Collagen synthesis and speeding up recovery. I find skin looks calmer, heals quicker, and you get that smoother, brighter, more refreshed glow much faster than with microneedling alone. It’s such a great way to enhance results and really maximise the treatment. To elevate your next micro-needling treatment or find out more about Purosomes head to oceanskinclinic.ie .

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and beauty of women everywhere.
As women, we give so much of ourselves every day—to our families, our work, and those around us. Today is also a reminder that caring for ourselves matters too. Taking time for our wellbeing, our peace of mind, and even our skin is not a luxury—it’s an act of self-respect.
When we care for ourselves, we show up stronger, more confident, and more present for the world around us.
Here’s to strong women, kind women, supportive women—and to taking the time to nurture ourselves.
Happy International Women’s Day. 💛

Micro needling , one of my all time favourite treatments, I like to think of it as building my collagen for skin longevity.
Microneedling is one of the most powerful skin treatments out there — and the reason is simple: it works with your body, not against it
By creating tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the skin, microneedling activates your body’s natural repair system. This triggers the production of new collagen and elastin, the building blocks of firm, smooth, youthful skin.
No shortcuts. No artificial fillers. Just your skin doing what it was designed to do - heal, rebuild, and strengthen itself.
• Improves texture and tone
• Softens fine lines and wrinkles
• Reduces acne scarring and pigmentation
* Creates healthier, more resilient skin
Because microneedling relies on your body’s own collagen production, results look natural, improve over time, and continue long after your treatment.
Microneedling is not a one-and-done treatment
For best results, most clients need 3-4 microneedling sessions or more if treating deep scarring, spaced out over time. Why? Because microneedling works by stimulating your skin’s natural healing response - and collagen takes time to rebuild.
Each session builds on the last.
Improvements continue for months, not days.
Consistency is key.
And just as important as the treatments themselves is what you do between sessions, most importantly a good, consistent, home care routine.
When it comes to long term skin health, Micro needling isn’t just a treatment it’s an investment in your skin. ✨
I’m walking into the year new with a clear intention, to keep learning, keep evolving and elevating my skill set.
Education is my main focus this year so I can continue to offer the best and most effective treatments for your skin.
I’ve invested in training I’ve been looking into for the last year with some of the industries best mentors which enables me to help clients with their skin on a deeper level. Education fuels growth and your skin deserves nothing less.
We have a new treatment coming very soon and of course completing my home studio with a few finishing touches inside and completing the exterior and surrounding ground works over the next few weeks are at the top of my to do list.
Here’s to growth, progress and never stopping the learning journey.Excited for the year ahead and to treating your skin. 💕

A complete whirlwind of a year and one that’s gone the fastest by far. 2025 was a year of personal growth for me vs business as it was a year spent off on a longer maternity leave than anticipated, spent with my little ones with plenty of time for reflection and the realisation of what are actually the most important things in life, family and good health.
It’s sometimes easy to get caught up in the noise and to get sidetracked by the unimportant things in life but this year has taught me gratitude for everything I have, to let go of people or situations that were wasted energy and to thoroughly enjoy life with all those people who truly matter and are always there for you through thick and thin, choose the ones that choose you.
I’m so grateful to each and every client that chooses my business and trusts me with their skin, it’s not just a skin business it’s the conversations the laughs the recommendations to friends and family and the relationships that are built over time. I’m excited for the year ahead on a business and personal level and can’t wait to see you all in the new year. Here’s to a healthy and happy 2026 🥂

Another beautiful winter bride from 2024 that trusted me with her skin in preparation for her big day. Mary began her skin journey seven months prior to her big day, giving us time to curate the perfect plan for her skin.
We began most importantly with a refined home skin care plan choosing products with ingredients that were essential to specifically treat Mary’s skin with what it needed to achieve her best skin.
We performed curated facials along with medical grade peels and a course of micro-needling, “AKA” collagen induction therapy to truly rejuvenate the skin on a deeper level. The results speak for themselves, a beautiful, radiant bride who was an absolute pleasure to work with.

As we only opened our doors, it was time to close them again for the festive break. I have been blown away with the support over the last few weeks from my old clients to the new faces that came into my new studio, from bookings, product purchases in clinic and online to purchasing vouchers for loved ones, it means the world to me that you choose my small business and I’m beyond greatful .
I look forward to seeing you all in the new year and excited for another year of all things skin. Wishing you all a merry Christmas and prosperous 2026. Rachel 💕🥂
Re opening
It’s been the busiest 6 months I can remember but worth every minute. When we decided to build a home studio to achieve a perfect home life balance I thought it was a simple process and I’d be ready for opening doors in a few months, how wrong I was and how I completely underestimated how much there was to this project, especially when my hubby was doing it all himself.
Every weekend making progress and of course encountering a few stumbling blocks along the way, a lot of late nights finishing D.I.Y., painting, assembling, laying floors but with a couple of breaks in between to enjoy life, a trip to the big apple making memories with friends and back to the UK to spend time with family.
Lots still to do on the exterior which will be completed in January whilst the landscaping, planting of foliage and laying pathways will be into the spring whilst we await dry weather 🙏. I opened doors on Friday and it was so lovely to see familiar faces again and get back to what I love doing the most and I look forward to the new year and seeing lots more familiar faces and treating skin again.
Thanks as always for your continued support I’m forever grateful 💕

Kobido
A lovely few days spent last week training with Maya in Kobido facial massage, intra oral buccal & facial cupping. I’ve attended a few of these courses over the years as I’ve always combined a holistic approach to my facials but even as a stand alone treatment the benefits are truly amazing.
Facial massage isn’t just fluff or a little bit of relaxation but offers incredible benefits to how our whole bodies systems function and communicates.
Facial massage using a variation of techniques and movements delivered correctly can 100% achieve a healthier, energised, more youthful complexion. From gentle lymphatic drainage to remove toxins and excess fluid build up to reduce puffiness and inflammation to a deeper facial workout to not only relax the muscles and tension we carry in our faces but to re educate the muscles to tighten & tone.
Massage supports our systems by reducing the stress hormone cortisol whilst increasing those all important happy hormones Serotonin and dopamine improving our overall mood and sleep function and stimulating our parasympathetic nervous system promoting calm and mental well being. Now who doesn’t want any of those!
New treatments coming soon

Life Lately
These last few months have been busy to say the least and probably a little bit chaotic but all in all good way. I was adamant we would have my new home clinic ready for August but that was a little optimistic on reflection to say the least.
Although we won’t be quite ready for August at the same time we’re not too far away from completion either. As we take a well deserved break for some R&R and quality family time, I’m still busy away behind the scenes choosing the final touches for my new space, training in some new treatments and brands and continuing to educate myself on all things skin.
I’m excited to welcome you into my new space, a space of calm and tranquility away from the chaos of every day life where we combine skin health and wellbeing.
Thankyou again for your continued support, message and email enquiries but mostly for your patience ☺️

Skin is in like never before and with so much noise, constant new trends, treatments and an abundance of new skincare brands now saturating the market, it’s overwhelming not to mention confusing but remember it is just that noise or “advice” but it doesn’t mean it’s all accurate or true.
Treating your skin from the inside out, taking care of your mental wellbeing, eating a healthy balanced diet, drinking lots of water, a consistent, solid skincare routine and regular facials will go a long way to long term healthy, vibrant skin vs one off quick fixes now and then with the latest treatment trend or believing that fillers or Botox treat the skin so no need to bother with a skin regime.
Remember that whilst social media can be a great place to find out lots of information on certain topics it can also be completely misleading and untrue.

It’s already been 7 months since saying farewell to enjoy my maternity leave with my little love and how the time has flown. Thank you so much for the continued support with all of your online purchases, it’s so much appreciated.
With many of you now messaging me to ask how I’m getting on and when and if I’ll be returning to work, the answer is 100% yes. As a small business owner and working alone I’m grateful to how fortunate I am to of been able to have taken this long stretch of time off to enjoy with my family and our new arrival but I’m also now looking forward to getting back to what I love doing most which is “skin”.
Behind the scenes over the last few months I have been upskilling my qualifications and experimenting with new products, techniques and treatments. We will be back in August in our new space in a new location set in the most luxury, tranquil setting but don’t worry we will still be based in Oughterard, only 5 minutes drive from our old location in the business centre. Again thankyou so much for all of your messages and kind words they truly are appreciated.
All existing clients will be notified when we have a definitive opening date and the diary is open for appointment bookings. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

![[Skincare in Pregnancy]
During pregnancy you will experience a lot of changes in your body due to the surge of hormones including changes to your skin. Your skin can experience anything from hormonal acne to dry/flaky patches, psoriasis, eczema and chloasma (dark areas of pigmentation known as the pregnancy mask). You may of never had troublesome skin in your life but pregnancy can definitely be a trigger for most of us not only on the face but the body too.
There are certain products that should be avoided in pregnancy including Retinoids,Salicylic acids (in certain percentages)and specific in clinic treatments which can increase a risk to your unborn baby due to lack of clinical data so always best to keep your routine gentle. You may also find that certain products in your routine suddenly become irritating to the skin in which case you need to stop using.
A simple pregnancy skin routine should include a gentle cleanser Am/Pm, cream cleanser if your on the dryer side and a gentle gel cleanser if your finding your skin is oilier (without acids or harsh exfoliating ingredients)if you like to double cleanse then jojoba oil is a nice option as it contains nothing artificial that will cause irritation. Plenty of hydration is important to keep the skin balanced and nourished so look for a good low weight hyaluronic acid based serum or moisturiser that also contains ingredients like glycerin, Niacinamide and vit B5 (panthenol).
Choose a gentle exfoliation, we love skin formulas oatfoliant as it aids gentle exfoliation whilst soothing and hydrating the skin.
SPF as always is a non negotiable but opting for a gentle physical (mineral based) SPF that does not contain chemical filters is the best option.
If your unsure on what you should/shouldn’t be using in your skin routine during pregnancy and need some advice on how to get the healthiest canvas then it’s best to book in for a consultation to get you on the right track. Whilst a simple and gentle routine is best some skin may be experiencing more complex issues and need that something extra to get things under control.

Melasma can be triggered by many causes including hormones, genetic predisposition, contraceptive medications, stress and other internal conditions. It can be one of the trickiest skin conditions to treat and if you suffer from Melasma you will notice the condition worsens in the summer months when your exposed to the sun and heat as it is triggered when exposed to heat and UV.
Although one of the most difficult conditions to treat as it’s dermal, the good news is that it can be effectively treated with the correct products and treatments resulting in a brighter more even skin tone. A few of my recommended in clinic treatments and products are as follows,
1. Meso Microneedling with vitamin infusion.
2. Medical grade skin peels.
3. A prescriptive home care routine & Mineral SPF.
As Melasma is a complex skin condition and can be persistent and trickier to treat, a full consultation is recommended to get you on the right path to the correct products and in clinic treatments to visibly brighter more even skin tone.

Roisin, the most beautiful bride, inside and out. Starting her skin journey in February 2023 she is the most dedicated bride I’ve worked with to date. Roisin wanted to allow plenty of time before her big day to achieve her best skin possible and that she did.
Following every piece of advice I offered her and a simple but tailored home care routine with small tweakments closer to the day Roisin was consistent with her home care routine and in clinic treatments.
We carried out a course of medical grade peels, Dermapen microneedling, bespoke facials with advanced technologies and LIghtstim LED therapy. The results speak for them self, the most beautiful, radiant, flawless complexion.

As we approach the official summer months just a little reminder of the importance of protecting our skin with adequate SPF protection. Sun damage presents in many forms of which include,
• Skin Cancer
• premature ageing, loss of volume and glycation.
• pigmentation, melasma and uneven skin tone.
• Actinic Keratosis
• skin sensitisation
Prevention is key to protecting your skin to maintain a healthy, youthful complexion. Most people are pretty savvy now when it comes to being aware of the harmful effects of UV and that wearing a daily SPF 30 or above is non negotiable but it’s crucial to be aware on the hotter days during summer when the UV is higher and the risk of sun damage is more prevalent that we need to reapply especially when outdoors, wear a sun hat and glasses for extra protection of the face and eyes and try to avoid the peak hours between 12-3 when UV rays are at their highest.
SPF protection isn’t just for the summer months we should be wearing it 365 days as part of our daily skincare routine, yes even when there’s no sun as where there’s light there’s UV (ultraviolet) rays which continue to break down skin cells which leads to the degradation of collagen & elastin and accelerates premature ageing.

Bridal season is upon us again and you have all the important things in hand for the big day months in advance, the dress, makeup, hair etc but it’s also important to start thinking about your skincare regime a good six months in advance if not more if you want to achieve your best canvas for the big day.
Here at the clinic we have you covered from your first in depth consultation where we will take a deep dive into your current routine, a thorough skin analysis to educate you on what your skin needs going forward, and a customised treatment plan for in clinic treatments in the lead up to your big day to ensure you achieve that beautiful, clear bridal glowing skin.

Spring Skin
As we head into spring it’s important to have a spring clean out of our skincare products too, making sure we are not using products past their sell by date where you should be able to find either somewhere on the bottom of the packaging or via the batch number. Products past their expiry are not only less effective but also have potential for bacteria growth.
As the seasons change so do our skin care needs so it’s important to change things up a little. Just a few simple tweaks are suffice to make sure your skin is hydrated and healthy and we buff away that build up of dead skin cells that can accumulate in the winter months making our skin dull & uneven. Above are a few of my skincare essentials that are perfect for that transition from winter into spring to reveal a glowing , healthy, hydrated complexion.
Fusion Deep cleanser is a lightweight melting micro emulsion suitable for all skin types. Despite its rich nourishment this cleanser feels light and cool containing low molecular weight hyaluronic acid it delivers a refreshing, melting sensation upon application.
Alumier MD Bright & Clear solution is a best seller and award winning product in the range. A refreshing skin conditioning solution that exfoliates cellular debris and refines the complexion. Containing Lactic acid , Salicylic and caviar lime to brighten and improve skin texture it’s the perfect gentle chemical exfoliant to bring into your spring routine.
Alumier MD Ultimate boost Serum is a lightweight serum that dramatically boosts hydration, packed with repairing, Hydrating and antioxidant protection to enhance the skins natural hydrolipid barrier it strengthens skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Can be used alone as a multifunctional hydrating serum or as a booster under a moisturiser or SPF. This is one of my all time favourite serums and perfect for a spring boost to brighten the complexion and combat any winter dullness.
Heliocare Water Gel SPF 50 is an intensely hydrating, water based gel that sinks into the skin to provide immediate long lasting hydration. With a lightweight, matte finish it’s my go to for the perfect spring/summer SPF.

Since the word go, we have grown our client base from the simple, old fashioned word of mouth. Client recommendations and referrals majority of the time and I really can say I’ve done near to nothing in the way of advertising 😬. I really am grateful to all of my clients, the existing that have been trusting me with their skin from day one to the brand new ones coming through the door each week. Of course we talk a lot about all things skin and ageing amongst many more varied subjects 😂 but I do love the chats!

Just a little reminder that ageing is a privilege, it’s not about trying to rewind the clock back twenty years, it’s about being the best version of yourself here and now no matter what your age.
We like to refer to treating the signs of ageing as age management when talking about fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, skin laxity, texture and pores, not anti ageing.
The earlier you invest in your skin from the inside out the better, as the results will clearly speak for themselves years down the line. Skin is always a big give away on someones age if they have neglected it so investing in your skin is key to preventing premature ageing and maintaining a more youthful, healthy appearance.

![[Skin Clinic of the year]
Yes we won Skin Clinic of the Year last Sunday at the Irish hair & Beauty Awards and I’m still pinching myself a week later.
I was really disappointed to have missed the award night as I was away on honeymoon but I just cannot thank each and everyone of you enough for taking your time to vote for me. I’m blown away with all of your ongoing support and the support I’ve received since opening the doors to Oceanskin last year, it’s been unreal, thank you so much.
Congratulations to all the other finalists and winners in the industry who are all truly passionate about what they do. Lots of plans, ideas and new things to come and always with my clients in mind.
Here’s to the future ???xx

The images above show a before and after picture spaced only 6 weeks apart of a beautiful client that came into me for a skin consultation with specific skin concerns of inflammation and an impaired barrier, having consultations previously and after trialling an array of recommended products she unfortunately wasn’t seeing the results she had hoped for.
We had in depth consultation and stripped back all of the existing skincare products she was currently using. After recommending three prescriptive products only, no in clinic treatments and her consistency with use of the products the results speak for themselves.
Just a little reminder that less is more and most importantly that you use the correct products for your individual, specific skin concerns to achieve the best results.

![[Neck & Décolletage]
The neck and décolletage is an area of concern for many of my clients, when it comes to skincare were nearly all guilty of neglecting these delicate areas and it’s one of the main areas that will experience ageing and lax skin first. As the delicate skin is much thinner on the neck and décolletage it also has less oil glands than that of the face resulting in the skin ageing in this area at a visibly faster pace.
Treat your neck & décolletage with the same TLC as your face, incorporating your cleanse, exfoliation, antioxidants, serums, masks and that all important SPF every day. You can also incorporate your PM routine down onto the neck, if your using a retinol gently does it as the skin is thinner so a small amount at a low concentration to avoid any irritation then lots of hydration.
When it comes to treatments for the neck area a neck firming cream isn’t going to solve every concern unfortunately, yes they can help to smooth the texture of the skin, hydrate and plump but they won’t perform miracles. The best results I see are from incorporating good home care products, being consistent along with micro needling to produce more collagen and elastin, regular in clinic facials using technologies like Radiofrequency and Microcurrent and profhilo to really see long term visible results and a more youthful appearance to the overall area.

Happy 1st Birthday Oceanskin, we made it to year one and I couldn’t be happier.
A year ago today I opened the doors to my first business. Opening a new business during the height of a global epidemic was an unpredictable decision but it’s turned out to be the right one.
I’m growing and learning more everyday and have lots of future plans for Oceanskin and a clear vision of how I’d like to see my small business flourish and develop into full fruition.
Thanks a million to each and every single one of you who have supported me and my small business. Im so grateful as without your support Oceanskin simply wouldn’t be.

![[Skin Consultation]
Consultation is the first step to your healthiest skin, it is key to achieving those desired results and educating yourself on your own personal skin needs. It’s the initial stage where I can get to know you a little better on a personal level but also on your lifestyle, existing skin routine and products and what you’d like to achieve.
The new client session is for anyone new to the skin game or anyone that isn’t but has fell of the wayside a little and is looking to get back on track to their healthiest skin.
A consultation can be booked before any facial or in clinic treatment, it’s where we look in depth into your current routine and products, lifestyle, any skin concerns you might have and expectations going forward. From there we will map out a prescriptive skincare plan along with in clinic treatments to start you on the path to your best skin.

The best part of this job is when clients tell me how happy they are with the visible changes they begin to see with their skin after a few weeks or months of starting on a personalised skincare routine and in clinic treatments.
It’s not just about the visual results but the self confidence they gain once they see their skin start to transform and flourish into its healthiest version.
Once we are educated on our skin and it’s individual needs we begin to understand why the products we may of been previously using aren’t working and why. We learn what our skin needs and why we don’t need an arsenal of products to achieve those desired results.
Once we stop over exfoliating, using products that aren’t the correct ones for our skin, using too many products that majority of the time we have no clue what there really for or even why we need them or if there even working at all, then we can strip it all back to basics.
Consistency and keeping it simple is key, once we start to feed, nurture and nourish our skin from the inside out, that’s when we start to see those skin changes, skin that blossoms with vitality, radiance and health.

It’s Sunday morning so take the opportunity to stay in bed a while longer as your skin will thank you for it.
Getting the adequate amount of sleep is vital not just for your overall health and well-being but also to your skin health. When we sleep our skin rebuilds collagen and repairs itself from UV exposure and damage.
Less sleep or lack of good quality sleep can equal more fine lines and wrinkles which leads to accelerated skin ageing and a poorer barrier function so take advantage and rest up when you get the chance.

![Masking]
Incorporating a facial mask into your skin routine can really take things to the next level it can make a visible difference and has immense benefits to your skin which include,
• Increasing hydration levels
• Detoxification for clearer skin & refined pores
• Evening out of skin tone & texture
• Nourishing the skin for a firmer more radiant complexion.
You can incorporate a mask with a little bit of relaxation like when taking a long bath or simply unwinding, apply to clean skin after cleansing then leave on for the recommended time. Many masks on the market can be left on over night, I’m a big fan of overnight masks as I find they deeply nourish and increase hydration levels in the skin with longer lasting results.
Whatever your skin concern or if it’s to simply enhance your home routine results, there’s some amazing masks on the market for every skin type and below?are some of my favourites.
(Exquisite dual hydration mask)
With liquorice root extract, aloe, marine peptides & low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, this mask gives the most amazing results, it deeply hydrates the skin whilst plumping out fine lines & wrinkles and working to reduce uneven skin tone & texture, my all time favourite mask.
(Alumier MD Aqua infusion mask)
An oil free lightweight mask that provides intense hydration, with natural sugars, low molecular weight hyaluronic acid and natural moisturising factors this mask not only deeply hydrates dry/dehydrated skin but it soothes and calms irritation, improving skin barrier function for all skin types & concerns.
(Cosmedix clear deep cleansing mask)
Deeply exfoliates and helps balance skin. Powered by kaolin clay, salacylic acid & sulphur to trap excess oil , draw out impurities to help balance out skin whilst botanical extracts sooth irritation and reduce redness. The glow after this mask is like nothing else.
(Trilogy age proof overnight mask)
A high street favourite that works to deeply hydrate and nourish, supporting the skins natural renewal process. Enriched with a potent blend of vitamins and botanical extracts this intensely hydrating leave on overnight cream mask works to nourish, firm and promote radiance.](https://scontent-iad6-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.82787-15/649242184_18077499356615012_8497062720984625521_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_tt6&_nc_cat=102&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=18de74&efg=eyJlZmdfdGFnIjoiQ0FST1VTRUxfSVRFTS5iZXN0X2ltYWdlX3VybGdlbi5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=x62mV2DuKrUQ7kNvwEx1I1e&_nc_oc=AdqbVkr2FmiMMdhW7rL5wLWPGaMSfVcOJbAltEiwIRu2_DvP1ypVLbPq5IqqgBuM5xk&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-iad6-1.cdninstagram.com&edm=ANo9K5cEAAAA&_nc_gid=nlHX456Odi41-BCaZu_6Tg&_nc_tpa=Q5bMBQIxqOcNy4_rkNdflJAuKyZDOfmIr_RydC-blJWxAoyJG60sn3L_xgyCdtyU0EIPcOG5IJDHIGmycA&oh=00_AQTlkqhUnd1j9HVfvYlRnvztXrrznjF4PYvLenfMu0HQAg&oe=6AEFB747)

Just a gentle reminder that we need still need to be using a broad spectrum sunscreen 365 days a year, so yes even on those dull, drizzly, dark, wintry days that we’re experiencing at the moment.
As we’re now much more educated that the biggest cause of premature ageing is from UV damage, it’s imperative that it’s always the last step in our daily skincare routine. ?

To all of my clients, I want you to know I am truly grateful for all of your support since I opened Oceanskin Clinic in May 2021.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2022 and lots of love for the year ahead!??xx
