Healthy skin has always fascinated me not because I believe in chasing perfection, but because I believe everyone deserves to feel confident in their own skin.

My passion for skin began in my late teens when I experienced melasma myself. Like many of my clients today, I understood the frustration of living with a skin concern that affected my confidence and finding that there were no quick or simple solutions. What began as a personal journey to understand my own skin soon became a lifelong passion. I immersed myself in the science of skin health, researching ingredients, studying skin physiology and continually expanding my knowledge to understand not only what works, but why it works.

That curiosity eventually became a career.

After more than 10 years in the beauty industry, including the past eight years specialising in skin health, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of clients achieve healthier, stronger and more radiant skin. In 2020, I founded Oceanskin clinic with a vision of creating a calm, boutique space where advanced skin science and genuine client care come together. Just two years later, OceanSkin was honoured to receive Skin Clinic of The Year at the Irish Beauty Awards 2022—a milestone that reflected the trust, loyalty and support of my amazing clients.

As a Level 4 qualified facialist, I believe every skin deserves an individual approach. There is no single treatment that suits everyone, which is why every appointment begins with understanding your skin, your concerns and your goals before creating a personalized treatment journey designed entirely around you.

My approach combines evidence-based clinical techniques with restorative facial therapies to treat concerns such as pigmentation, acne, sensitivity, rosacea and the visible signs of ageing, while always respecting the skin’s natural function. I don’t believe in quick fixes or following trends. Instead, I focus on restoring skin health, strengthening the skin barrier and delivering beautiful, lasting results through thoughtful, personalised care.

Because OceanSkin is an independent boutique clinic, you’ll always be treated by me personally. Building long-term relationships with my clients is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, and I feel incredibly fortunate to play a part in helping people feel more confident in their own skin.

When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll usually find me learning new courses and continuing skin education.Spending time with my family, enjoying a coffee by the lake, travelling between Ireland and the UK to visit family and friends, or discovering a new destination to explore. These quieter moments inspire the calm, restorative experience I strive to create for every client who visits OceanSkin.

A complete whirlwind of a year and one that’s gone the fastest by far. 2025 was a year of personal growth for me vs business as it was a year spent off on a longer maternity leave than anticipated, spent with my little ones with plenty of time for reflection and the realisation of what are actually the most important things in life, family and good health. Another beautiful winter bride from 2024 that trusted me with her skin in preparation for her big day. Mary began her skin journey seven months prior to her big day, giving us time to curate the perfect plan for her skin. Re opening It’s been the busiest 6 months I can remember but worth every minute. When we decided to build a home studio to achieve a perfect home life balance I thought it was a simple process and I’d be ready for opening doors in a few months, how wrong I was and how I completely underestimated how much there was to this project, especially when my hubby was doing it all himself. Every weekend making progress and of course encountering a few stumbling blocks along the way, a lot of late nights finishing D.I.Y., painting, assembling, laying floors but with a couple of breaks in between to enjoy life, a trip to the big apple making memories with friends and back to the UK to spend time with family. Lots still to do on the exterior which will be completed in January whilst the landscaping, planting of foliage and laying pathways will be into the spring whilst we await dry weather 🙏. I opened doors on Friday and it was so lovely to see familiar faces again and get back to what I love doing the most and I look forward to the new year and seeing lots more familiar faces and treating skin again. I’ve attended a few of these courses over the years as I’ve always combined a holistic approach to my facials but even as a stand alone treatment the benefits are truly amazing. Life Lately These last few months have been busy to say the least and probably a little bit chaotic but all in all good way. I was adamant we would have my new home clinic ready for August but that was a little optimistic on reflection to say the least. Although we won’t be quite ready for August at the same time we’re not too far away from completion either. Skin is in like never before and with so much noise, constant new trends, treatments and an abundance of new skincare brands now saturating the market, it’s overwhelming not to mention confusing but remember it is just that noise or “advice” but it doesn’t mean it’s all accurate or true. It’s already been 7 months since saying farewell to enjoy my maternity leave with my little love and how the time has flown. Thank you so much for the continued support with all of your online purchases, it’s so much appreciated. With many of you now messaging me to ask how I’m getting on and when and if I’ll be returning to work, the answer is 100% yes. After a super busy last few weeks in the clinic I am officially stepping out of the clinic to put up my feet and start my maternity leave. [Maternity Leave] With Autumn already here,my upcoming maternity leave has arrived sooner than expected. As most of my regular clients are already aware my last day in clinic is 19th October. All clients will be emailed this week with the upcoming changes going forward. [Skincare in Pregnancy] During pregnancy you will experience a lot of changes in your body due to the surge of hormones including changes to your skin. Your skin can experience anything from hormonal acne to dry/flaky patches, psoriasis, eczema and chloasma (dark areas of pigmentation known as the pregnancy mask). You may of never had troublesome skin in your life but pregnancy can definitely be a trigger for most of us not only on the face but the body too. There are certain products that should be avoided in pregnancy including Retinoids,Salicylic acids (in certain percentages)and specific in clinic treatments which can increase a risk to your unborn baby due to lack of clinical data so always best to keep your routine gentle. You may also find that certain products in your routine suddenly become irritating to the skin in which case you need to stop using. A simple pregnancy skin routine should include a gentle cleanser Am/Pm, cream cleanser if your on the dryer side and a gentle gel cleanser if your finding your skin is oilier (without acids or harsh exfoliating ingredients)if you like to double cleanse then jojoba oil is a nice option as it contains nothing artificial that will cause irritation. Plenty of hydration is important to keep the skin balanced and nourished so look for a good low weight hyaluronic acid based serum or moisturiser that also contains ingredients like glycerin, Niacinamide and vit B5 (panthenol). Choose a gentle exfoliation, we love skin formulas oatfoliant as it aids gentle exfoliation whilst soothing and hydrating the skin. SPF as always is a non negotiable but opting for a gentle physical (mineral based) SPF that does not contain chemical filters is the best option. If your unsure on what you should/shouldn’t be using in your skin routine during pregnancy and need some advice on how to get the healthiest canvas then it’s best to book in for a consultation to get you on the right track. [Melasma] Melasma can be triggered by many causes including hormones, genetic predisposition, contraceptive medications, stress and other internal conditions. It can be one of the trickiest skin conditions to treat and if you suffer from Melasma you will notice the condition worsens in the summer months when your exposed to the sun and heat as it is triggered when exposed to heat and UV. Although one of the most difficult conditions to treat as it’s dermal, the good news is that it can be effectively treated with the correct products and treatments resulting in a brighter more even skin tone. A few of my recommended in clinic treatments and products are as follows, 1. Meso Microneedling with vitamin infusion. 2. Medical grade skin peels. 3. A prescriptive home care routine & Mineral SPF. As we approach the official summer months just a little reminder of the importance of protecting our skin with adequate SPF protection. Sun damage presents in many forms of which include, • Skin Cancer • premature ageing, loss of volume and glycation. • pigmentation, melasma and uneven skin tone. • Actinic Keratosis • skin sensitisation Prevention is key to protecting your skin to maintain a healthy, youthful complexion. Most people are pretty savvy now when it comes to being aware of the harmful effects of UV and that wearing a daily SPF 30 or above is non negotiable but it’s crucial to be aware on the hotter days during summer when the UV is higher and the risk of sun damage is more prevalent that we need to reapply especially when outdoors, wear a sun hat and glasses for extra protection of the face and eyes and try to avoid the peak hours between 12-3 when UV rays are at their highest. Spring Skin As we head into spring it’s important to have a spring clean out of our skincare products too, making sure we are not using products past their sell by date where you should be able to find either somewhere on the bottom of the packaging or via the batch number. Products past their expiry are not only less effective but also have potential for bacteria growth. As the seasons change so do our skin care needs so it’s important to change things up a little. [Skin Results] The images above show a before and after picture spaced only 6 weeks apart of a beautiful client that came into me for a skin consultation with specific skin concerns of inflammation and an impaired barrier, having consultations previously and after trialling an array of recommended products she unfortunately wasn’t seeing the results she had hoped for. We had in depth consultation and stripped back all of the existing skincare products she was currently using. After recommending three prescriptive products only, no in clinic treatments and her consistency with use of the products the results speak for themselves. [Neck & Décolletage] The neck and décolletage is an area of concern for many of my clients, when it comes to skincare were nearly all guilty of neglecting these delicate areas and it’s one of the main areas that will experience ageing and lax skin first. As the delicate skin is much thinner on the neck and décolletage it also has less oil glands than that of the face resulting in the skin ageing in this area at a visibly faster pace. Treat your neck & décolletage with the same TLC as your face, incorporating your cleanse, exfoliation, antioxidants, serums, masks and that all important SPF every day. You can also incorporate your PM routine down onto the neck, if your using a retinol gently does it as the skin is thinner so a small amount at a low concentration to avoid any irritation then lots of hydration. When it comes to treatments for the neck area a neck firming cream isn’t going to solve every concern unfortunately, yes they can help to smooth the texture of the skin, hydrate and plump but they won’t perform miracles. The best part of this job is when clients tell me how happy they are with the visible changes they begin to see with their skin after a few weeks or months of starting on a personalised skincare routine and in clinic treatments. It’s not just about the visual results but the self confidence they gain once they see their skin start to transform and flourish into its healthiest version. Once we are educated on our skin and it’s individual needs we begin to understand why the products we may of been previously using aren’t working and why.
